as the title suggest, how can make the vr streams cynk with audible? i've try copy and pace the foulder from my harddrive to vr streams, but it failed to reckonize so... any help will be appreciated.
thanks
Have you tried using the Stream Companion software? I love it because it will automatically search for what you want, whether it be DAISY, audible, text, music, etc. If you have it set to do so, it will also automatically unzip the files, so you don't have to worry about doing that.
Is this something that comes with the Stream, or do you buy it separately? I don't have a Stream yet but hope to some day.
the software I think is free.
The Companion software is free. When you purchase the Stream, you should get a copy of the software on a disk, and if not, you can get it off of HumanWare's website.
yeah, have try that, but it didn't work. do i need to do anything on my audible account or something?
Yes, you need to indicate that the Stream is going to be your reader. I did mine a while back, so I don't remember exactly what it is you need to do, but if you need help, I'll log in and check it out. I believe there's a combo box or something like that where you choose your device.
Actually I think you can do that when you install Audible Manager. Be aware you'll need an active internet connection to do that, even if you don't have the Stream yet. But when you run the installer, unless I'm remembering wrong, you'll be asked which device you'll be using to play the files. The Victor Reader Stream should be among the list of options. The program will download the necessary files so that the unit can be activated. But before you can play the books you have to activate your Stream. TO do this you need to connect your Stream to the computer and turn it on. Then you need to run Audible Manager. Search the menus (they're a bit confusing but they are usable), until you find an option to Activate your Device. Choose this option and you'll be asked to enter your Audible.com username and password. Audible Manager will place a system file on your Stream's SD card, which you must not delete. But you can of course copy and paste it to more than one SD card to quickly activate each one for Audible use. If you have the newest firmware on your Stream, that will also create a separate folder on your Bookshelf for Audible Books. Then you can easily use the Stream Companion to transfer and remove books from your Stream. Note that to activate the Stream for Audible material the unit does need to be connected to the computer. You can't just do it with a card reader. For transferring books themselves you can just use a card reader.
thanks last poster, will definitely try it out. i remember seeing it and select victor streams when i sign up with audible, but, it seems perhaps, there's some step that i don't it wrong.
